What is the purpose of ISO 3834?
ISO 3834-1 provides criteria to be taken into account for the selection of the appropriate level of quality requirements for fusion welding of metallic materials, among the three levels specified in ISO 3834-2, ISO 3834-3 and ISO 3834-4:2005.
This standard sets the quality requirements for the factory and determines the quality assurance principles of the welded products. In April 2021 revised ISO 3834-2,3,4:2021 standards were issued, replacing the 2005 standards. QSCert is currently in the process of accreditation for audits according to ISO 9001: 2015 in connection with ISO 3834-2,3,4: 2021, in order to complete this process by 30.06.2022.

Art. 16 - Calibration and validation of measuring, inspection and test equipment – supplemented
requirement for ISO 3834-2 (-3): Compliance with the welding procedure specification shall be verified by using validated measuring, inspection and test equipment. Calibration or validation of welding equipment does not relieve the manufacturer from the responsibility of verification of working in accordance with the WPS.
